Valentine's Day with Oriental Trading

Can you believe it's February already?  The year is already flying by.  February means the month of love.  It's the time when we share our love for the people in our lives by showering them with candy and stuffed animals.  It is also the time for those class Valentine parties.  When your kids want those expensive valentine cards and candy that you wait last minute to get.  Or is that only me?

Well not this year!  I am doing everything early.  Oriental Trading is here to the rescue.  They have a ton of Valentine's Day optionsI couldn't wait to check out the valentine cards for the class card exchange.  My daughter can be rather picky.  I went with a card and pencil combo.  I like to hand out things other than candy since we tend to collect so much of it throughout the year.  I think the other parents would appreciate my gesture.

I also thought it would be fun to have a small Valentine's Day party at the house.  My daughter is always asking for friends to come over and this was a good time for crafts and cupcakes!  For any party, crafts are a mustThey keep the kids busy.  I checked out the Valentine's Crafts page and there is so much to choose from.  I wanted to choose something that is fun to make but also can be used after the girls leave the party.  This box card holder kit was perfect.  The girls can use them for collecting cards on party day at school.

For the party, I am keeping the decor simple.  I tend to go overboard when planning for these kid parties.  I ordered Pink & White Paper Lanterns to hang from the ceiling and Valentine Garland to drape in front of the treats table.  I also got some cute heart plates and red paper cups.  So much red and pink!  I love it.  I'm using white tablecloths so the colors are going to look great against the white.

I wanted to do a candy bar since I've never done one before.  I love seeing parties where the colorful candy is in clear containers all ready for the kids to dig into.  Yep, I'm doing it baby!  I ordered an assortment of candy including these twisty lollipops and hot pink buttermints.  The girls will carry their goodies home in striped favor boxes.

My daughter is so excited for the party.  She's a bit of a social butterfly so any chance to get together with friends is a bonus.

Be sure to pop over and take a look at Oriental Trading's massive selection of party supplies.
