Good morning fine folks! Looking forward to spring around these parts. We had a few 75 degree days a few weeks ago and I want them back!  Daylight savings also kicked my butt. I hadn't changed some of the clocks and I was walking around thinking I had plenty of time on Sunday, when actually I was running behind! Argh! It doesn't help when it's still dark getting the kids up and out the door Monday morning. Oh well. I guess I'll adjust. I have been wanting another fiddle leaf fig tree. I love the big leaves and having more green in the house just brings more life to a room. I had one a few years ago that I kept alive for a while but I did feel like it took a little more maintenance. It was finicky. I couldn't move it or it would rebel by turning brown or dropping a leaf. It started out full and greenbut I think when the weather turned cold, it couldn't cope. Or maybe it was me. Pinterest has released a list of Top Trends for 2018 . They give the top trends for several different categories according to pins last year. Per this list, the Home category grew 75% in 2017. I'm not surprised. I'm always pinning project ideas, big and small. It also says people who pin spend 27% more than people who don't. Go figure! There are projects I wouldn't have done if I didn't see them on Pinterest. I like to think of myself as an organized person but there are many areas of my home that I lack a system for. The first being my pantry but that is going to take more time than I have right now. I have decided that I will start with the linen closet in our master bathroom. The before isn't horrible but you can see that we just kind of tossed things in without thought. Pillows instantly and easily give your room a new look. I'm a huge fan of pillow covers because you can take them off for washing and switching things up. Covers can also be cheaper than pillows. I've pulled some choices together that can help you refresh your space! One of those tricky transition periods is after Christmas when all the decorations come down. We take down our trees and ornaments and are left with what feels like a blank slate. It can almost feel empty where the tree once was. For myself, I took it as a chance to de-clutter and purge a lot of the old Christmas items I hadn't used in years. There were also many regular home decor items I was holding on to but really had no need for. My style has changed over the years and I knew I wasn't going to use them. I have a few tips on decorating your home for winter. 1. Use natural elements I think one of the things that can stay during winter is the greenery.
