How did Monday get here so fast?  The week end flew by.  It was 60 degrees and sunny here.  It was so nice to get out and enjoy the warm weather with the kids. I fin ishe d my son's big boy room!  I love it and he loves it.  He was so happy when he first slept in his new bed.  He was outg rowing the crib so it was time to go bigger.  I kept the same color palette except I swapped light blue for navy blue a n d a few touches of green .  I'll quit talking and let the pictures do their thing.   I really wanted to keep the bed espresso.  I like the dark wood against the lighter gray wall.  I found this beadboard headboard at Big Lots.  I t has the pe r fect lines and color. I knew I wanted to add the metal letter above the bed.  It adds some industrial to the room.  I told you the first purchase for the new room was the bedding .  I think the navy stripes go s o well with the gray walls.  I brought the H&M ch evro n pillow in fro m the loft .  It goes so muc

Well, we made it through another week my friends.  Here are some things t hat I've been l iking lately.     1. While browsing some food recipes, this doughnut recipe from The 36th Avenue had my mouth watering.  The way to my heart is food, especially sweets. 2. I came across this tutorial from Bless'er House for adding trim to your windows.  I would love to try this out in my house. 3. We are on the search for a new bed for my daughter and we are looking at the Hemnes Daybed from Ikea.  This hack from Honey Bear Lane looks relatively simple and makes the bed look so much more custom.  Anybody have one of these beds?  Do you like it? 4. I also would like to try building a headboard like this one from Home Depot's blog .  I love the shiplap and rounded top but with having to buy tools and wood, it may come out to be a lot more expensive.  It is pretty though. 5. Me.  Sin ce the show Fi xer Upper de buted two years ago , I have seen s o m any room make overs using shiplap.  But who can blame people for using it.  It adds texture to a wall and an old feel to the room .  So w hat exactly is shiplap you ask?  According t o Wikipedia, s hiplap is a type o f wood ed board commonly used in the construction of barns, sheds, a nd outbuildings . As you may know I'm in the middle of re-decorating my son's big boy room.  You may remember this wall from the nursery. Like I said before, one of the shelves came tumbling down when he was reaching for a book on the top shelf but pulling on a bottom shelf.  I knew this wasn't an ideal solution for books so I took it all down.  This wall become blank and needed something else in place of the shelves.  My son inherited the Trofast storage bin from his sister.  That still left a large blank space over it.  I started thinking maybe a map would be good for this space but since I was going for an industrial, rustic feel in his new room, I thought a blue print would be better .  I searched online for a car blue print since I was adding a loose cars theme.  I found one of an Audi R8.  The only thing is, it was in black and white.  I wanted it in blue and white to go with the colors in his room.  I loaded it into Photoshop and ha d my husband show me how to change t

I, like many others, love my iP hone.  I made the switch years ago and never looked back.  One of accessories I must have for it is a nice case.  I was using a plain silicone for my iP hone 6 for the past year and never had an issue.  Until I dropped it a few months ago and the screen shattered.  Yep, it was bad.  After the screen was replaced I went on a search for a case that protected and looked good.  I can't afford to keep replacing screens.  It's bound to get dropped again because I do have a 2 year old that likes to take pictures with my phone.
