Holiday Gift Guide for Her

Image
Ya'll! Thanksgiving is next week! How did that happen? This year has gone by so fast. So you know that means Christmas shopping begins now. I never know what I want for Christmas. I'm the type that will take a giftcard. I don't want you to go crazy over a gift. Most of the time I just buy what I want anyway. Ask my husband. When buying gifts, you want that person to not know they needed that thing. I especially love surprising my mom. Here are some things for the special women in your life. gold coasters plaid scarf pajamas stud earrings   leopard clutch slippers   leggings   instax camera   bluetooth speaker   planner   Don't think I've forgotten about the men. I'll be back next week with that one.     You're reading Holiday Gift Guide for Her b y Andrea, originally posted on Decorating Cents .  If you've enjoyed this post, be sure to follow Andrea on Facebook , Pinterest , Bloglovin , Instagram , and Hometa

5 Ways to Upgrade Your Outdoor Space

Image
Now that we are deep into summer, we are outside more these days. We also got a puppy so it's forcing us outside anyway for potty breaks. I have yet to pull out the pillows and rug to make the patio pretty. I guess I feel like I only need them when we have company over. My husband and kids could care less about the decor. All they want is somewhere to sit. Think of your outdoor space as an extension of your inside home. A place to entertain guests and enjoy nature. Make it fun. Make it you! photo source 1. Round Tables

Image
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know I'm itching to change up our breakfast area. We bought this table and chair set when we first moved in six years ago.  Is it even possible that we have lived here this long?  Wow.  I loved the high top table and matching chairs.  I was really into dark wood.  I still am but in smaller doses.  The chairs are easy to clean because of the faux leather seats and backs. I am ready for change.  I want to lighten up this space a little.  I also just want to change just because.  Is that wrong?  I've decided that I want a round table, probably white paired with simple one piece chairs.  I love the modern vibe of a simple round table.  My kids are still young so definitely not going with cloth chairs here.  My husband is on board so I've been gathering inspiration pictures from the web. Celebrate Easter with Oriental Trading

Image
Spring is finally here!  I love the mild weather and sunshine.  Easter is a special time for me and my family.  It is a time of family and most importantly the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus.   I work in the nursery at church on Sundays.  I love watching the babies grow and learn. We are ha nding out goody bags so I needed something that was age appropr i ate for infants and toddlers. These He Lives booklets have illustrations for them to color but also have facts about the gospel. These bright buttermints will be great for goody bags as well.  They each have a bible verse written on them.  So grab your mint, but learn a verse at the same time. The kids also need an activity for them complete while in class.  I found this color your own tablecloth .  So not only will it keep the table at snack time clean, but the kids can color. Snack time is important with my group.  They look forward to crackers and juic e.  Easter is a special occasion , s

Since I am in the process of giving our dining room a makeover, I have seen so many nice dining chairs out there.  I really loved the ones from West Elm but with me needing six chairs, that was going to totally blow my budget!  I found ones that were nearly identical at Walmart! Round Mirrors

Image
Since I am giving my dining room a makeover, I have been on the hunt for a piece to go above the console table.  I think an oversized round mirror would be perfect for this spot.  Round mirrors are clean and modern and would be very different from the sunburst mirror I had there before.  I think it will also help bounce the light around in here since the wall is darker. I scored the internet looking for some options.  Some are more affordable than others.  I want to get the bes t bang for my buck and hubby isn't going for something expens i ve.  "It's just a mirror ," he said.   1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9   You're reading Round Mirrors b y Andrea, originally posted on Decorating Cents .  If you've enjoyed this post, be sure to follow Andrea on Facebook , Pinterest , Bloglovin , Instagram , and Hometalk .

DIY Acrylic Tray

Image
Hump day!  We're half way there. So glad my daughter's room is finally finished.  I love the gray walls with pops of color throughout.  Her desk is one of the areas she uses the most.  She likes to sit there and do legos or draw.  She tends to collect a lot of paper so I wanted a tray to corral all of it.  I made a simple acrylic tray in my office so it was a no-brainer to make one for her too. I bought a plastic frame from Michael's and some pretty scrapbook paper. Cut the paper to size to fit into the frame. Boom!   Done !   So simple but so cute! Here it is on the corner of her desk.  I love how it's not bulky and since it's clear, you can still see the desk.  It doesn't always stay as clean as I'd like it, but it w orks. What's the easiest project you've tackled lately? In case you missed it, the room reveal is here .   You're reading DIY Acrylic Tray b y Andrea, originally posted on Decorating Ce

Time for Spring Style

Image
Spring is quickly approaching people!  That means warmer temps and more daytime outings.  It also means new clothes and accessories to accommodate those temp changes!  Thankfully my husband understands that and likes to get in on the shopping action too.  Over the years his style has matured and he likes to look good when we go out.  I must say he has a good sense of style. One thing my husband loves to have is a good watch.  He tends to go for name brands so they aren't going to be cheap.  Let's be real, a watch is probably one of the only accessories a man wears so it should look good and stand out.  A watch should also be of quality and last a long t ime.  Accessories also elevate the outfit am I right?  My stylish fella likes to dress and having a fashionable watch on his arm kicks things up a notch. I jumped at the chance to partner with JORD .  They are a maker of unique wood watches powered by Swiss moveme nt .  The natural woods are hand-finished and treated w

Girl's Room Reveal

Image
Good morning fine folks!  This moment has been a long time coming.  I expected this makeover to be quick and painless b ut it has dragged on for months .  I know .  I know.  I knew what I wanted to do but not finding some pieces that I wanted caused me to run behind schedule. Let's get to it shall we ?  C aution yourself a s there are lots of pictures. I wante d her room to have a focal wall but I knew I didn't want to use paint.  I found these gold polka dot decals and my girl loved them.  I was originally going to do a pattern but my daughter liked the idea of free falling dots instead.   This actually saved me a headache of trying to measure and figure out where each dot w ent.  It was a win for us both .   The biggest change in the room was probably the wall color change.  It was previously green.  I really liked this color when we moved in and painted but I felt like it was limiting what I could do in the room. The gray feels softer and actually makes
