Modern Chandeliers

Image
My favorite light in the house has got to be the chandelier in my dining room. I loved that light since I first laid eyes on it. It's the West Elm Mobile Chandelier , which can be pricey, but I waited for it go on sale. Ever since I've had the light, I see so many versions of it. I wanted to round up some of them and share. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9     Would you consider any of these for your own home?

Bathroom Art With PhotoWall

Image
Every room needs art. Whether it be a canvas or framed, art kind can complete a space. It adds texture to the space and another dash of color and interest. We are in the process of designing our master bathroom and want it to feel like a retreat. We want to enter a spa every time we walk in. All the cares of the world to just fall away when we're in it. When choosing art for the bathroom, I wanted soothing color and theme. When PhotoWall reached out to try one of their canvas prints, I knew exactly what I wanted. A little piece of nature. I chose the Stones canvas. I love the serene feeling that this piece gives off. The colors are soothing and the stones are very spa-like. One of the good things about purchasing from PhotoWall is that you can choose the size you want to best fit your space. You can go so far as cropping and changing the actual objects in the picture. If there's a dinosaur in the picture on the website, you can choose to make it a dog. Now that's cus

Master Bathroom: The Plan

Image
This is the second time we are refreshing our master bathroom. The first time, we painted the cabinets , painted the walls blue , and framed the mirrors . It has remained this way for the last 8 years. I was never a fan of the blue paint. From the moment it went up on the walls, I knew I didn't like it. Why not change it then, you ask? Because I hate painting and I knew that hubby wouldn't want to paint again either.   The time has finally come for me to make the bathroom as spa-like as possible. Hubby agreed and I have quickly began to order items and make changes. You don't have to tell me twice!   I shared my mood board for this room previously. Laying the new flooring is probably the largest job we need to do. We painted the walls a couple weeks ago the same color as downstairs, Behr Silver Drop. It's a very light gray and the color looks different depending on the room it's in. I have also been able to change out the lights and remove those huge builder mirror

Rectangle Mirrors Under $200

Hey! Hey! Hey! I've been working hard on the master bathroom. It's a little exhausting trying to make sure all the pieces work together.    One of the things I really wanted when designing the new look was a floating mirror. Our current mirrors are the large builder grade ones glued to the wall. I framed them several years ago and painted them dark brown to match the vanities. I am ready for a change.   There are so many options out there so I decided to share what I found. These are all 24x36 in size. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Master Bathroom Refresh

Image
Looks like our master bathroom is finally getting a makeover!   We had our shower re-done last fall because of a leak. We hadn't planned on doing it so soon but you can't have water leaking all over the place right?   As soon as hubby gave me the green light to get this room done, I started putting a plan together. I'm going for a light and clean modern vibe. The shower is done and the floors are already chosen so I'm working around those items. Here's what I have in mind. vanity light mirror vanity floors cabinet knob hand towel robe hook towel ring shower tile   There are several DIYs planned so stay tuned!

Affordable Blue Rugs

Image
I'm always on the hunt for a good rug. Rugs can be expensive though. Especially if you need a large size like 8x10 or 9x12. With blue being my go-to color for decorating, I decided to see if I could find some affordable blue rugs. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 Which one is your favorite?

Amazon Home Decor Finds

Image
You can find literally anything on Amazon. Since quarantine started in March, they have been at my house delivering at least once a week. You need light bulbs? Check Amazon. You need cleaning products? Check Amazon. I've been wanting to change some things around in the house. So of course I checked Amazon to see what I could find. The thing I like about most things on Amazon, I can get something in two days and if I don't like it, I can return it. I can be kind of picky so free returns is essential for me. rope basket / planter / frames / chandelier / mirror / ladder bookcase / pillow covers / bench / blanket What have you checked Amazon for lately?

Save or Spend

Do you ever feel like a piece you really want for a room is way out of budget? You've fallen in love, but the price is way to much to swallow. When that happens, I always try to find a piece that is very close to that style or color. I designed two different bedrooms below. Both are very similar, but the pieces are at much different price points. Spend bed $1599 nightstands $998 bench $479 blue pillows $496 striped pillows $156 lumbar pillow $119 lamps $636 rug $220 Total $4703 Save bed $719 nightstands $338 bench $172 blue pillows $44 striped pillows $92 lumbar pillow $68 lamps $312 rug $213 Total $1958 You can get the look you want without spending a ton of money. It may take some research to find the pieces, but you can get there. Both looks are beautiful. Which would you choose?

Save or Spend

When designing a room or refreshing a space, you usually have a set amount of money you want to spend. Otherwise known as a budget! I know, I know. I hate that word too. But if you set a budget for yourself in the beginning, you are less likely to go over when buying for your space. I wanted to design a space with 2 different budgets in mind. Some people are savers and want to get the most bang for their buck while others may be willing to spend a little more to get the look they absolutely love. Save console table $127 baskets $27 x 2 lamp $45 vase $50 faux stems $8 x 2 mirror $60 beads $45 Total $394 Spend console table $499 basket $119 x 2 lamp $229 vase $69 faux stems $8 x 2 mirror $299 chain decor $58 Total $1408 Which look is your favorite? Are you a saver or a spender?

Get The Look: Brooklyn Playroom

Image
It's time for another round of Get The Look. In this series I get to share with you a beautiful space and give you pieces that you could use to re-create it for yourself. Most often, cheaper versions than the original space. This modern playroom grabbed my attention with the dark wall on one side and the wall mural on the other.   source It always fun to re-create spaces. I changed the mural to something more geometric. bean bag chair / wall mural / sofa / shelves / storage bins / sconces / play sign / rug / pom baskets / play table / chairs / barn door / fiddle / wall color Interested on getting a new look for your home or refreshing a space?
