Spring Home Decor Ideas

Image
Spring has sprung and it's time to get the home decor in order.  When I think of spring, I think bright colors.  Here's a little inspiration to get your juices flowing. 1) Create a spring wreath - give your guests a nice greeting before entering your home. 2) Change your bed linens - with warmer weather it's time to get rid of the heavy comforters and go with a lighter option . 3) Bring in greenery - add those pops of green throughout the house to bring the outdoors in. 4) Change out your pillows - they instantly change the look of your room. 5) Create a succulent garden - these mini little plants bring color and more of nature indoors. 6) Add bright colors - switch out the darker colors for lighter pastels . 7) Change your wall decor - add more colors to the walls . 8) Fresh flowers - nothing says fresh and new like freshly picked flowers on the table. 9) Swap out your rug - just like pillow

Beautiful Barn Doors

Good morning!  How was your Easter weekend?  We enjoyed ours.  Chill on Saturday and church Sunday morning.  We ended it with a family dinner.  I can't say I got much done this weekend but I feel more relaxed since we didn't get into too much. I've been seeing more barn doors lately.  I really love the look of these doors in home decor.  Hubby and I have talked about replacing the double door entrance to our bathroom with one. I love these blue ones. source source This one looks like it would go perfect in our room. source source I love the windows at the top of this one. source How about that pop of color? source source I really like the barn door on this pantry. source I love the glass panel s on this one.   source Are you loving the barn door look too?   You're reading Beautiful Barn Doors by Andrea, originally posted on Decorating Cents .  If you've enjoyed this post, be s

It's Friday.  It's Friday.  The end of the week is here. Tonight we are attending IKEA's traditional Swedish Easter Smorgasborg buffet here in Atlanta.  It 's called the PASKBORD.  This annual buffet celebrates spring and the Easter holiday.  Guests will enjoy a traditional meal of classic Swedish food.  The menu will include Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, smoked salmon, Swedish ham, and cheeses.  I love their meatballs so I definitely looking forward to those.  I'll be sure to leave room for assorted desserts and beverages to top it all off. PB Teen Inspired Pinboard

Image
On Monday I showed you the plans for my daughter's room makeover.  For her desk area, she wanted a place to hang her artwork and the little notes that she writes.  I decided a pinboard was the perfect solution.  We both really like this pink polka dot one from PB Teen but $89 is a lot for me to swallow.  Nothing like a good 'ole DIY project to the rescue. I picked up a large pinboard from Goodwill for a few bucks. I originally wanted to paint the frame white but decided to just cover the whole thing with fabric.  I picked up some pink printed fabric from Hobby Lobby.  To start, I laid the fabric over the board and centered it.  I tried to line up the fabric along the edges as best as I could to keep the pattern straight. I used silver push pins around the edges to create a nail head look. I spaced the pins an inch apart using a yard stick.  Pushing in ALL.THOSE.PINS took the longest.  I would push one in only to realize it didn't line up the

Girl's Room Makeover Plans

Happy Monday!  It was su nn y and 70 here this week end so we enjoyed it.  We had family in town so we soaked up as much time with them as possible. So guess who wants a room makeover now?  My daughter, of course.  It all started with a new bed.  We lik ed t he one she had but with little brother getting a new bed, she wanted a new one too.  I took t he new bed a a whole room makeover so it's not complet el y her doing.  Her cu rrent room is green which I lov ed at the beginning.  It was the first room complete wh en we moved so I was still unsure of some of m y direction for the entire house.  The green was fun while it lasted but it 's time for a change.  We are going gray ! The whole room color scheme will be gray, pink, turquoise blue, and gold.  I never thought I would be thro wi ng gold in but it's g rown on me.  I think the gol d will add some g lam to b alance out the oth er fun colors in the room.   Here' s the plan. First , we'll start with

Look a Likes: Metal Chairs

Image
Today I want to talk about chairs.  I see this style of chair around and I love it.  They look so industrial and cute.  I have thought about changing our breakfast room chairs and I think we would be a good contender.  They would coordinate with the bar stools in the kitchen and they are easy to keep clean.  They would be easy for the kids to sit in and I wouldn't have to worry about them falling too far to the ground.  If you do a search online, they vary in price from $50 to $400.  Here are some of my favorites.   Target / Restoration Hardware / Amazon / Overstock I'm really feeling the rustic, industrial, and modern feel of these. Do you like this style?   You're reading Look A Likes: Metal Chairs by Andrea, originally posted on Decorating Cents .  If you've enjoyed this post, be sure to follow Andrea on Facebook , Pinterest , Bloglovin , and Hometalk .
