Toy Storage Ideas

I've been thinking about the storage elements for the nursery.  Although there aren't any toys yet, I know they will be soon coming.  We're gonna need a place to corral all of them.  In my daughter's room we went with the Trofast from Ikea.  The white color was perfect to match her other furniture and we were able to choose from an assortment of colors in the interchangeable bins.

I love the idea of turning an Ikea Expedit into a storage and upholstering it for seating.  I'm thinking a window seat yes?  We could use colorful bins to go with the room decor and hide all the little toys that may end up scattered around the room.

We've seen some wooden crates in Home Depot that would be great as well.  It wood be fun to paint them orange and line them up along a wall.  As the baby grows older, he can just toss the toys in easily and quickly since there's no lid.

How about putting that bad boy on casters so he can be moved all over the room?

There is the classic toy storage bench.  They have changed over the years and look a little more modern.  I would prefer a stained one like this so it doesn't look so kiddy.

How cute are these colorful toy bins?  Their soft and the handles for carrying around are a plus.

  1. I go to Good Will and stock up on cheap baskets. Our coffee table has a shelf underneath and we just throw the baskets of blocks and books under there. But I really like your ideas! I like the wooden box on casters a lot.

  4. I like the idea of being able to easily move all the toys in storage out of sight when you have the packed away. There's no excuse for kids not to learn how to be neat and tidy!
