Color Change

After much procrastinating, I changed the living room accent wall color.  I hate painting so I've been putting this one off.  I liked the previous color but it was a little too tealy blue.  This one has more gray in it, much closer to what I was going for in the first place...I think.  I chose Behr October Sky.

Hubby says he can't tell the difference but I clearly can.  He came home and asked if I had a chance to paint yet.  What???  I did.  Here's a side by side comparison.

See how the first color has more green and the new has more gray?  More calm and not so in your face.  It's not a huge difference but enough to make me happy.

Everything is right in my world again.  But I've already seen a darker color that I'm wanting to try.  How many tries does it take you to get the color right?

  1. I think most men have a hard time distinguishing color, the tone, value and nuance. I can tell a big difference between the teal wall the the blue with a touch of grey. I really like the October Sky so much better. It enhances the neutral and natural colors in your sofa tremendously. Everything has a much softer look. My husband and I disagreed over a paint color for our kitchen over 6 months! We had 2 huge swatches next to each other and he kept insisting in one that was much more yellow and seemed to almost go grey. The one I liked was a very creamy, pale honey color and stayed neutral after painting. He kept telling me that there was so little difference, why didn't we just go with his choice? I finally said, "Fine, Go, Be, Do...paint it whatever you want, these walls just need fresh paint!" This is 3 months later, he decided not to paint and the swatches remain!

  2. I failed to mention how much better your wall art looks with the October Sky color...so much prettier, both the art and the wall!
