Greek Key Pillow

The new chair in the family room was looking pretty lonely.  It didn't have a pillow friend to play with.  It was time to do something about it.  I thought about finding some fabric to make a pillow cover but then decided I didn't feel like doing it.  I started searching Etsy for a great print that I thought would mesh well with the other pillows.  This greek key pattern kept popping up.  I liked it so I went with it.  The hard part was choosing a color.  I saw blue and white, red and white, but ended up going with this brown and natural from this shop. 


I love the pattern. 
 

The square pattern was meant for this square chair.  Now my chair isn't so lonely.
 


Etsy had so many options to choose from.  I saw several that I want to order for the master bedroom.  Where do you shop for your pillows?  Ever consider Etsy?

    Your chair screams happy! Love the print too. I'm coming over from The Mustard Ceiling, I love Elizabeth. You did a great guest post it's nice to meet you :)
    I usually sew my own pillows or I shop at TJ MAXX.

Sunburst In The Dining Room

I've been looking for a round mirror for the stenciled wall in the dining room but have had no such luck.  We tried a larger piece of art on that wall but the colors and patterns didn't mesh well with the stencil already there.  I needed something dark and pretty solid to stand out against the stencil.  I decided a sunburst mirror would fit this space nicely.  I made one for my daughter's room with skewers but knew that one would be too small for this spot.  I wanted it to be thick and dark.  After seeing several versions, I decided to use paint sticks.  They are free and thick enough to make an impact on the wall.  I had some extra in the garage at home since we had started painting other rooms in the house already.  I would always grab a couple extra on each paint trip to Home Depot.  I also bought a 12 inch round beveled mirror from Hobby Lobby.  It was half off candles sale so it came to $4.00.  I had the rest of t...

Kitchen Cabinets Revealed

After a long weekend and several week nights of painting, I can finally say the kitchen cabinets are done.  Say hello to our new kitchen. The stools seem to disappear into the island.  Not sure if I want to leave them this way or find some new ones.  I could try to recover the seats and paint the legs. I removed the dark striped valance and it already brightened the kitchen by allowing more light in.  I hope to find some fabric soon to make another window treatment.  I was thinking about a roman shade.  It wouldn't bother me to leave the window bare either.   It thought going to darker cabinets would make the room feel dark but I think it actually adds another dimension. I found this rug at Target.  It added more blue and I loved the whimsical play on chevron.   So glad I went with stainless steel pulls instead of keeping the old nickel knobs.  They pop off the b...

Wall Mounted TV and Hiding The Cords

We mounted the loft TV on the wall last week.  We knew we didn't want those ugly cords connected to the TV to be seen.  I had done a few searches to see what our options were for hiding them.  Turns out, there are several.  My least favorite was the cord cover and I knew that wasn't going to work for me. Here are the pieces we bought from Home Depot.  They are wall plates that allow you to pull the cords through but keep them hidden in the wall. After we figured out where we wanted the holes, using the template in the package, we cut a hole right under the TV mount for the cords coming from the TV.  It made me a little nervous cutting a hole in the wall.  The cords also needed a place to exit at the bottom.  We cut the second hole straight down from the top one, right next to the outlet where the cords would be plugged in.
