Creating A Dream Bathroom

Even t hough we are currently in a home we love, I know it's not our forever home.  Right honey?  Whenever I see photos of things I would absolutely love in my dream home, I pi n them for later.  I try to find so me elements in the room that I can incorporate into our current home.  Don't we all have lists of what we would want in our dream home?   Take this master bathroom for instance. I love the modern feel of it.  It has a dark stained vanity but the rest of the room is light and bright.  It has a wonderful skylight , walk in shower, and storage above the tub.  Do you see al l the marble tile throughout?  Yes, please. source   I looked for items from this inspiration picture that could he lp re-create this look.   W hen you find an inspiration photo, scan each piece to see wh at you can pull together on your own.   PlumbTile is a great online resource for all yo ur bathroom needs .  Here's what I put together using the main pieces.   vanity /

Two-Toned Kitchens

A few years a ago we painted the kitchen cabinets.  We took the cabinets from a light maple color to a dark espresso.  The dark cabinets totally changed the feel of our kitchen.  I love dark cabinets and to me they are so modern.  Not to say white kitchens can't be modern but the dark has always appealed to me. If you're like me, you love a variety of kitchens: white, dark, gray, and in between.  Every time I see a kitchen with a different color palette than ours, I'm a little intrigued.  I often wonder how different our kitchen would feel with a lighter cabinet again.  The combo I have been loving recently is the two-toned kitchen. These are some that I could do with a slight color change to the island.  I would love to change up t h e kitchen but don't want to g o through the hassle of re-painting ALL the cabinets. source source source   Then there's the gray and white combo.  I l ove them !  I think it's the f resh white mi xed wi

Friday Five

Happy Friday!  It's the end of another long week.  This was my first full week of work of the new year and I'm exhausted.  It's hard getting back into the swing of being an adult. Here are some things that have caught my eye this week around the net. 1) We have been trying some new recipes for the last couple weeks and I really like this one for Broccoli Cheese Soup .  It's simple and the family loved it.  Something about having warm soup when it's cold outside. 2) I've been toying with the idea of revamping my daughter's bedroom and when I saw this one from Sita Montgomery , I swooned.  Do you see the wall detail?  Love it.  Something I think I may have to add to my list of to do's. 3) Megan from It's a Grandville Life installed this beautiful chandelier in her office. What a statement piece!  And I can't help but notice how bright and clean her office is. 4) I love the way that DIY on the Cheap turned some
