Spring is here! Time to clean out all the things and freshen up our spaces. One of the biggest ways to transform a room is to change the decor in it. Usually the biggest thing in the room is the rug on the floor. I rounded up some pretty rugs that I thought would be great to lighten up the room and even give it a punch of color if that's your thing. Of course I included some blues. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9   I've got my eye on a few of these because I'm switching things up over here too!

Hey! Hey! Hey! I've been working hard on the master bathroom. It's a little exhausting trying to make sure all the pieces work together.    One of the things I really wanted when designing the new look was a floating mirror. Our current mirrors are the large builder grade ones glued to the wall. I framed them several years ago and painted them dark brown to match the vanities. I'm always on the hunt for a good rug. Rugs can be expensive though. Especially if you need a large size like 8x10 or 9x12. With blue being my go-to color for decorating, I decided to see if I could find some affordable blue rugs. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 Which one is your favorite?

You can find literally anything on Amazon. Since quarantine started in March, they have been at my house delivering at least once a week. You need light bulbs? Check Amazon. You need cleaning products? Check Amazon. I've been wanting to change some things around in the house. So of course I checked Amazon to see what I could find. The thing I like about most things on Amazon, I can get something in two days and if I don't like it, I can return it. Do you ever feel like a piece you really want for a room is way out of budget? You've fallen in love, but the price is way to much to swallow. When that happens, I always try to find a piece that is very close to that style or color. I designed two different bedrooms below. Both are very similar, but the pieces are at much different price points. When designing a room or refreshing a space, you usually have a set amount of money you want to spend. Otherwise known as a budget! I know, I know. I hate that word too. But if you set a budget for yourself in the beginning, you are less likely to go over when buying for your space. I wanted to design a space with 2 different budgets in mind. Some people are savers and want to get the most bang for their buck while others may be willing to spend a little more to get the look they absolutely love. Most often, cheaper versions than the original space. This sunny sunroom caught my eye because of the colorful rug and bright and happy sofa. The rug has a lot of pink which I don't get to use much of in my own home. I love how there is so much color but balances out with the white walls as the base.   Houzz This rug is one I've had my eye on for a while. The blues and pinks are a match made in heaven. I love the look of real plants but I don't know about you, this girl is good at killing them. I've had a fiddle and a couple of yucca plants and they are sadly no longer with us. It's not that I don't want them to survive, I just forget to water them or over water them. I think the yuccas lived the longest. Once the weather gets cold it's hard to keep them warm and happy. House plants are good for purifying the air in your home. They help remove invisible toxins that are unhealthy for us like carbon monoxide. Did you know what some of the products in our home like furniture and air fresheners release formaldehyde? Plants also help reduce stress and fatigue. Plants not only bring life to a room but they also look good. Put them in a pretty basket and you have yourself some instant decor. Not too mention the pop of green looks good in any room. The only living plant right now in my home is my snake plant. I've had it a couple years now and I love it...

I love the hunt for a good deal. I knew for our breakfast nook I wanted a modern look and something that would clean easily. The Eames style chair was at the top of my list. Of course I couldn't afford the $500 price tag, especially since I needed four of them for my space. I started the hunt online.  There are tons of retailers online that sell replicas. I found that Poly & Bark sold one that had great reviews. Their price was also better than the original style of chairs. They also offered a version with darker walnut legs. This was a bonus for me because I liked this color better than the natural. I ended up going with this chair but I found a set of four on Amazon for a cheaper price. Amazon actually had a ton of alternative brands too. Original Eames chair / Poly and Bark Vortex chair Remember, always do your research before making a purchase. There's bound to be a better deal.

It's the time of year when we're getting anxious for spring but we know winter is still looming in the background. One day it's 70 and the next it's 40. Most people want a lighter and brighter feel in their spaces when spring comes. What better way to change the feel of a room than with pillows? They are affordable and can be easily switched out. Anybody ever get the urge to change something in your house? Like, all the time? I can't be the only one. I have been wanting to change the rug in the foyer. Don't get me wrong, I still like the one I have, but I want something lighter and brighter. Something that actually opens the space up.  I was contacted by Natural Area Rugs to try a rug of my choice. You know I jumped at the chance. I have a jute rug in the breakfast area so I was intrigued to see what their options were. Jute can be very versatile and there is no color or pattern to be bound by. One of those tricky transition periods is after Christmas when all the decorations come down. We take down our trees and ornaments and are left with what feels like a blank slate. It can almost feel empty where the tree once was. For myself, I took it as a chance to de-clutter and purge a lot of the old Christmas items I hadn't used in years. There were also many regular home decor items I was holding on to but really had no need for. My style has changed over the years and I knew I wasn't going to use them. I have a few tips on decorating your home for winter. 1. Use natural elements I think one of the things that can stay during winter is the greenery.
