Spring Break Style

Spring break is just two weeks away for us. We haven't told the kids so it'll be a total surprise for them. We are cruising again. We weren't looking to take a cruise again for a while but came across a good deal we couldn't pass up. The kids are avid Youtube video watchers and were watching videos of cruises before we made a decision. It's like they were in our heads. They are still watching them and my daughter even made the comment, well, if we don't take a cruise this year, I'll be happy with a family road trip. What!?! These kids. Where is the money they are willing to contribute to said trip? It's up to me to make sure everyone has what they need for the trip. Including new clothes for both kids. Why do they insist on growing up and getting bigger? They both grew out of last year's clothes. Ugh.  When packing for myself, I like to keep things light and throw in pieces I can wear several ways. I usually pack more tops than bottoms because wh

Neutral Shoes for Spring & Summer

I don't know about you but with spring on the way, I am all kinds of ready for sandals and taking these layers off. The warmer months are when I gravitate towards neutral shoes. They are so versatile and go with every outfit. I usually go for a cognac or dark tan since my skin is a darker tone. Yes, I still wear black sandals but not as often. I'm a huge wedge person. They are usually more sturdy than heels and more comfortable. If I can find a comfy heel though, I will grab it. Before every season I like to go through my closet and get rid of shoes that I am tired of or didn't wear the year before. I have gotten pretty good at selling my old stuff on Ebay or Poshmark. It helps me keep my out of pocket expenses at a minimum. Here are some shoes I own or have my eye on for the new season. 1. suede espadrille / 2. suede sneakers / 3. cognac slides / 4. ankle strap espadrille / 5. snakeskin flat / 6. gold sandal / 7. platform sandal / 8. leather espadrille Do

A Few Cravings

Well, I'm due in a week but I thought for sure we would meet little man this weekend.  I thought it would have been so cool to meet him on Mother's Day.  Oh well.  He'll come when he gets ready. One thing I'm excited for when this pregnancy is over is wearing real clothes again.  Since spring started, there have been so many cute clothes I have been dying to wear.  Old Navy recently launched a campaign for white jeans.  I loved the commercial with Boyz II Men.  They are one of my favorite guys groups.     source   Another item I've got my eye on from Old Navy is the eyelet dresses.  Something about the tiny waist and texture.  I've already bought one in my pre-pregnancy size hoping it will fit.  source My feet didn't swell up like my first pregnancy so I've been able to wear my normal shoes.  Yep, I'm still wearing heels and wedges.  I have bought a pair though that I haven't worn.  I'm just a little afraid that my feet will

I Can Do It Too

Today I received just the boost I needed to start on some projects.  Sherry over at Young House Love announced the Pinterest Challenge Fall Edition.     I had no idea where I would start since I've pinned so many things on my boards .  I decided to start with one that was easy and free.  How can you beat those two in the same sentence? I've started seeing these DIY scarves and have recently pinned several.  I knew I had some old shirts laying around that I didn't wear anymore.  The idea is to take an old shirt and remix it into a scarf.  Sweet!  Here are some of my inspiration pins. Looks easy enough right?  So let's get 'er done! Start with a t-shirt.   Cut the bottom hem off and also right under the arms. Cut the mid section into strips.   Pull the strips.  They will curl up on the edges.   I saved a piece of the bottom hem.  I wrapped it around one of the ends and secured with a few stitches.   Not bad f
