Bathroom Art With PhotoWall

Image
Every room needs art. Whether it be a canvas or framed, art kind can complete a space. It adds texture to the space and another dash of color and interest. We are in the process of designing our master bathroom and want it to feel like a retreat. We want to enter a spa every time we walk in. All the cares of the world to just fall away when we're in it. When choosing art for the bathroom, I wanted soothing color and theme. When PhotoWall reached out to try one of their canvas prints, I knew exactly what I wanted. A little piece of nature. I chose the Stones canvas. I love the serene feeling that this piece gives off. The colors are soothing and the stones are very spa-like. One of the good things about purchasing from PhotoWall is that you can choose the size you want to best fit your space. You can go so far as cropping and changing the actual objects in the picture. If there's a dinosaur in the picture on the website, you can choose to make it a dog. Now that's cus...

Master Bathroom Refresh

Image
Looks like our master bathroom is finally getting a makeover!   We had our shower re-done last fall because of a leak. We hadn't planned on doing it so soon but you can't have water leaking all over the place right?   As soon as hubby gave me the green light to get this room done, I started putting a plan together. I'm going for a light and clean modern vibe. The shower is done and the floors are already chosen so I'm working around those items. Here's what I have in mind. vanity light mirror vanity floors cabinet knob hand towel robe hook towel ring shower tile   There are several DIYs planned so stay tuned!

An Organized Linen Closet

Image
Good morning friends! I have joined some of my favorite blogging ladies for #4daysoforganizing. We are all sharing some tips on organizing our homes in the new year. If you are visiting from The Handy Home Girl , welcome! Come on in! If you are like me, I have decided that I need to get my home in order. I like to think of myself as an organized person but there are many areas of my home that I lack a system for. The first being my pantry but that is going to take more time than I have right now. I have decided that I will start with the linen closet in our master bathroom. The before isn't horrible but you can see that we just kind of tossed things in without thought. We knew where things were. Having wire shelves can prove to be difficult because things fall between the cracks and bottles don't sit up straight. It is frustrating to balance a small bottle just right on the shelf. The first thing I did was pull everything out of the closet. I did this so I ...

Changes Upstairs

Image
Since we have been here a little over five years, I wanted to go back and look at the makeovers that have been done so far.  If you missed the downstairs, go here .    My daughter's room was one of the first to be fini shed.  Here's the before.  Definitely not appealing for a spunky girl like mine. I filled her wall up with DIY art , put up a temporary light , made some DIY curtains a nd pillows , bought a desk , a nd made a sunburst mirro r for over her dresser. As you know, I am currently in the process of changing her room again.  We painted it gray to give it a new look.  Things are looking good so far. Her bathroom received a makeo ver.  I used the green from her b edroom as the accent col or.   Ne xt up is my son's room.  It st ayed empty for a while when we moved in.  It was going to become a guest room but we found out we would soon be getting a new family m em ber.  I absolutely loved h...

Luxurious Master Bathroom

Image
I think we all long for a place to wind down and take a breather at the end of the day.  A long, hot bubble bath in a large jacuzzi tub is a dream right?  I immediately started thinking of a luxurious master bathroom when I saw this faucet from Decor Planet .   In my opinion a master bathroom should have cool, calming colors.  I mixed blue and gray in this space which I think look great with the dark vanity.  I love the countertop to ceiling wall tile with separate mirror.   Sources faucet : I love the modern lines of this faucet but it also throws a few curves bath light : simple lines but still sleek vanity : modern and dark with plenty of storage underneath shower curtain : a bold pattern bath towel : classic white wall tile : countertop to ceiling mirror : floating on top of the tiled wall light gray walls : nice neutral backdrop, Behr Silver Sateen art : pop of color vase : more color *This is a sponsored post but t...

Hall Bathroom Is Done!

Image
I finally finished.  It's probably been finished for a while.  I had some pieces but hadn't put them in the room yet.  What I thought would take me a month or so took a few months.  I see what I want it to look like in my head but sometimes the pieces don't always fall into place like I want them to.  I think I was over thinking things.  This bathroom doesn't need to be fancy or over the top.  It's going to be for my son and any guests that we do have over.  I want simple and fresh.  So here goes. I love the soft blue-gray in this room.  It makes it light and airy in here.  Now that the mirror is framed, it pops off instead of blending into the walls.  I went with a white frame to keep the colors light.  I almost went dark but changed my mind last minute in the store.  All the bathroom mirrors are framed now and make such an improvement in the look of the bathroom itself.  More of a finished look instead of ...

Girl's Bathroom Makeover

Image
Back over Thanksgiving break, I promised my daughter I would begin work on her bathroom after Christmas.  It was one of the last rooms left to be painted.  But mind you, her room was one of the first ones finished.  I was determined to make this happen for her even though I knew it would be tight because I would have both kids over the Christmas break.  My goal was to start to finish in two days.  I'm superwoman so I can do this!  Or so I think I'm superwoman sometimes. Here is the room before.  She already had the shower curtain and towels.  I chose this shower curtain because it used the sames colors from her bedroom.  Excuse the weird lighting.  There's no window and the overhead light is all there is. Yes, her poor bathroom has been like this for over two years.  At least, she had towels to clean herself up with right? I had plenty of the Dutch Boy Pale Blue Springs paint left over from the hall bathroom , wh...
