Thanksgiving Table

Image
Happy Friday everyone! We are less than a week out from Thanksgiving.  I am so ready to spend time with friends and family and stuff my face with good food.  We are hosting this year so I've been playing around with a tablescape.  I wanted to keep it simple but still look nice. Of course I had to use my blue! I layered a gold charger with a simple white dinner plate and blue salad plates. Who knows if it will actually look like this Thanksgiving afternoon when it's eating time.  We usually do buffet style and I have way more people coming than this table will seat.   You're reading Thanksgiving Table b y Andrea, originally posted on Decorating Cents .  If you've enjoyed this post, be sure to follow Andrea on Facebook , Pinterest , Bloglovin , Instagram , and Hometalk .

DIY Harvest Sign

Image
Thanksgiving is coming up next week.  Yeah, next week.  I'm not sure if I'm hosting yet, but I wanted something to display on my entry table.  I like to keep things simple.   I came across this sign in the Michael's dollar spot and thought I could do something with it so I bought it.  The saying wasn't fitting for me but paint can change things. Once I got it home, I gave it a few coats of black paint. It sat this way for a couple weeks until I could get around to finishing it.  Lately, I've been feeling like I haven't gotten anything around the house accomplished.  Well, this weekend I got tired of seeing it just sitting there.  I wanted a sign done by Thanksgiving so I got myself in gear. I wanted a word that would really speak for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Harvest is the gathering of crops from the field but I also thought about the law of sowing and reaping.  If we sow continually and generously, we reap a...

Kids' Thanksgiving Tables

Image
Last week I shared some Thanksgiving table ideas with you.  All the dishes and decor can be a too much for the little ones.  So what do you do with the kids at dinner?  Sitting with the adults probably isn't fun and they really can't let loose with mom hovering and making things stuffy.  I wanted to see what others were doing to keep their little ones busy during the big meal. I like the idea of giving the kids a craft to do while they are eating.  It keeps them occupied. How cute are these turkey glasses.  It's an easy project to make the kiddos feel special drinking out of something just for them.   This table still gives them place settings but uses paper plates so you won't worry about them breaking your good dishes.   Love the pilgrim hats here.  Having costumes will surely make dinner fun. Look at these cute pumpkin place holders.  Reminds me of a favorite toy, Mr. Potato Head. If you really wan...

Thanksgiving Table Ideas

Image
The holidays are here.  I'm not sure if we're hosting Thanksgiving this year, but I can be prepared right.  I love seeing a nicely styled table. This gold table caught my eye last week.  It's an easy DIY with gold pumpkins and glittered pinecones.  Really brings the outside in.   Kate always puts together a nice table.  This one uses neutrals and natural elements. Love the placemats used in this setting.  Each guest can write what they are thankful for.   This table is really my style.  It's very simple and modern without all the fuss.  We don't need fancy in my house.  I love the graphic runner.   Thanksgiving is fast approaching.  Are you setting the table for Thanksgiving this year?  Will it be fancy or casual?

Here's wishing you and your family a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Be thankful for everything and everyone in your life. And oh yeah...don't eat too much, I know I will!

A Thanksgiving Printable

I normally don't decorate for Thanksgiving.  Since we're having guests over, I wanted to add a few items to make the place welcoming.  I've seen subway art around so I decided to give it a try at making my own. Start by opening Picnik.com .  Since there is no way to open a blank document, you need to upload any photo.  Click upload a photo.  Since I wanted my document to be portrait, I uploaded a photo that was already in that format. Once your picture is uploaded, select Stickers from the Edit tab.  Under the Geometric shape section, choose the rectangle.  The sticker is automatically horizontal so you may have to rotate it if your picture is portrait.  Enlarge the sticker to cover your uploaded photo and change the background color to your choice. You can now begin to add your words.  Select Text from the Edit Tab.  Type in your word, choose the font, and click add.  You can change the color and size also. C...
