Society 6 Pillows

I'm on the search for new pillows and came upon Society 6.  Where have I been?  How could I not have known?  They have some awesome pillows and their prices aren't bad either.  I had to share a few with you.

    Hmmmm. The pillows are cute. Does anyone know what the quality is? Downside for me is that they don't shy away from some pretty nasty stuff on shirts, and even pillows. Not my choice in moral integrity in a business. I quit looking when I noticed this aspect of their business.

      I did notice some pillows had quotes I personally wouldn't display. I overlooked those. As far as quality, I haven't seen ay negative comments so far.

Wall Mounted TV and Hiding The Cords

We mounted the loft TV on the wall last week.  We knew we didn't want those ugly cords connected to the TV to be seen.  I had done a few searches to see what our options were for hiding them.  Turns out, there are several.  My least favorite was the cord cover and I knew that wasn't going to work for me. Here are the pieces we bought from Home Depot.  They are wall plates that allow you to pull the cords through but keep them hidden in the wall. After we figured out where we wanted the holes, using the template in the package, we cut a hole right under the TV mount for the cords coming from the TV.  It made me a little nervous cutting a hole in the wall.  The cords also needed a place to exit at the bottom.  We cut the second hole straight down from the top one, right next to the outlet where the cords would be plugged in. Painting A Striped Wall

Now that the nursery walls are painted, I wanted to add a little something to them.  I've always wanted to do a striped wall and here's my chance.  I was noticing in my pinned nurseries, this one and this one had striped walls.  I thought about stripes all over but decided to go with a striped accent wall instead. Here's the room with just the gray paint, Behr Silver Sateen.  Entrance into the nursery.  Closet wall This is the wall where the crib will go.  I wanted to make this the accent wall. I chose to go with a simple white stripe to keep the room neutral since I will be adding bright colors later.  The color I chose is Behr Snow Fall.  I started by measuring my stripes.  The wall is eight feet tall making it 96 inches but I wanted the stripes to be the same width the whole way down.  Taking away the baseboard, that left me with 93 inches of wall to work on.  I decided I wanted seven stripes, three white an...

Installing Ikea Lack Shelves

I have wanted built-ins somewhere in my home for forever. They look so classic and they are extra spot to house beautiful home decor pieces. I have seen many a hack for turning the Ikea Billy bookcase into built-ins but I kept debating whether I was up for the challenge. Were built-ins too much for me? In my head I wanted something simpler too.  In my searches for DIY built-ins I kept coming across floating shelves. I love the modernness of them. The clean lines. The way they just seem to be coming out of the wall. There were times where I would browse Homegoods and Target seeing all the pretty things I could put on shelves. Alright done. Floating shelves it was. Once I decided on floating shelves, the debate was whether I wanted to build them or just buy them. Building them meant I could make them the exact size I wanted them to be.
